During the treatment, patients can expect minimal discomfort as the design includes a chilled sapphire crystal on the handpiece to keep skin cool. There is no need for topical anesthetic however providers may choose to use it. Patient’s can also expect potential temporary redness or warmth, and visible results, like improved skin tone and texture, within a few days to weeks. Some patients may experience mild redness or warmth immediately after the treatment, which usually subsides within a few hours. Treated pigmented areas (like sunspots) may initially appear darker, but this is a normal part of the healing process, and they will eventually fade and slough off. The treatment is typically quick, with sessions lasting between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. Patients can expect visible results in just 1 to 2 treatments, compared to the 5 to 6 sessions often needed with traditional IPL technology.
